As you should know the Mexican Authorities have been releasing official communications regarding the status of the swine flu outbreak in several states of the country. Industrias Negromex SA de CV, in an effort to keep our customers informed about our own position regarding this contingency, would like to put to your consideration the following information.

1.-According to the health authorities, the highest outbreak point is located in Mexico City and some central states; our plant is located in Tamaulipas state which is relatively far from Mexico City and more important, so far there is no official record or verified cases of people infected by this virus in our region.

2. The way of transmission of the virus, according to health authorities, is through secretions from human to human, it is not airborne and doesn’t resist UV light, more over it has been confirmed that the virus can not survive more than 48 hours outside of its environment. www.cdc.gov/swineflu/ and www.promocion.salud.gob.mx

Regarding to our operation, it is important to let you know that the handling of our product does not come into direct contact with our personnel since the use of gloves is mandatory as a safety precaution, please also note that our materials normally go through a storage period in our warehouse and transit time for more than 48 hours before reaching the final destination with our customers.

You can be sure that extra precautions have been taken; personal hygiene is the key to prevent any outbreak (washing hands several times a day, use of masks, gloves, etc). Our employees have been informed and instructed to stop by our medical facility if they have symptoms associated with flu.

We have also put in place a “control check point” for all visitors entering our facilities asking them about their health condition.

As you can appreciate, we are taking all necessary actions to guarantee a continuous supply of our products, we hope this information reinforce the confidence you already have with us.
